As a teacher Miguel is first of all approachable. He is as interested in what the student brings to the educational encounter as he is prepared to meet them with what he has to offer that fits their existing skills and requirements to become more competently expressive. He is a master printmaker and understands the many materials and techniques with which to produce searching imagery executed with confidence. Most importantly Miguel understands that an artist at every phase of their development requires intellectual, technical, cultural and personal support in order to deepen and expand their work. To provide such an educational environment, it is essential that a teacher create both an inviting and challenging setting so that each student can take their next step up and forward. Miguel is that artist and that teacher.
